If you have an interest in the outdoors, environmental education or working with children, then Nanjemoy Creek Environmental Education Center has a valuable and rewarding experience for you. Find the volunteer opportunity that’s right for you! There are opportunities during weekdays, in the evenings and on weekends. The amount of time you donate is up to you.
Regular Volunteer Opportunities (weekly hours):
- Volunteer receptionist (weekdays)
- Volunteer coordination
- Education assistant (weekdays)
- Outreach Program Volunteer (in-school)
- Web page maintenance
- Animal care volunteer
- Building and habitat steward
- Development/event planning
- Trail maintenance
- Garden maintenance and planning

Please note: In 2018, Charles County Public Schools instituted a new policy regarding volunteering within the school system. All volunteers who are working in proximity with children must go through a screening process. For more information about this process, visit the CCPS website at volunteer registration
